Chrome extension

Propaiire Cast

Cast copies a listing from Propaiire into OneKey MLS Matrix or Zillow Rental Manager. It opens the site in a new tab and fills the form one page at a time. You check each page. You click Submit. Cast never submits anything.

Who can use it: Cast is included with the Pro and Premium plans. On the free plan, a $19 unlock adds it for one property (see pricing). It runs in Google Chrome on a computer, not on phones or tablets.

Install

Version 0.1.3
Not on the Chrome Web Store yet. Install it in Chrome's developer mode with the steps below. It takes about two minutes.
Download Propaiire Cast (v0.1.3)

Install in developer mode

  1. Download the extension
Click Download Propaiire Cast on this page. You get lmp-cast-v0.1.3.zip.
  2. Unzip it and put the folder somewhere it can stay
On a Mac, double-click the zip. On Windows, right-click it and choose Extract All. You get a folder named lmp-cast-v0.1.3. Move it to a place you will not clean up, such as Documents. Chrome loads Cast from this folder each time it starts, so do not delete or move it later.
  3. Open Chrome's extensions page
Type chrome://extensions in the address bar and press Enter.
  4. Turn on Developer mode
Use the switch at the top right of the extensions page.
  5. Click Load unpacked and pick the folder
The button is at the top left. Select the lmp-cast-v0.1.3 folder (the one with manifest.json directly inside it) and click Select. Propaiire Cast appears in the list, version 0.1.3.
  6. Pin it
Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar, then the pin next to Propaiire Cast. Its icon shows the cast in progress and lets you jump back to its tab.
  7. Reload Propaiire
Reload any open Propaiire tab. Open a published listing in the Studio: Publish to OneKey and Publish to Zillow are now blue.

How a cast works

  1. Sign in to OneKey or Zillow in Chrome. Cast uses that session; it does not sign in for you.
  2. Open a published listing in the Studio and click Publish to OneKey or Publish to Zillow.
  3. Cast opens the site in a new tab. A panel at the top right fills the first page from your listing: address, property details, price, description, photos and so on.
  4. Check the page and fix anything you want. Click Continue in the panel to go to the next page.
  5. On the last page Cast stops and asks you to review. You click Submit on the site yourself.

FAQ

Does Cast submit the listing for me?

No. Cast fills fields and moves between pages when you click Continue. It never clicks the site's final Submit button. You review the listing and submit it yourself.

Which sites does it work on?

  • OneKey MLS Matrix listing input (matrix-new.onekeymlsny.com), for sales.
  • Zillow Rental Manager (zillow.com), for rentals.

It does nothing on any other site.

Do I need to be signed in to OneKey or Zillow?

Yes. Sign in to OneKey or Zillow in the same Chrome window before you click Publish. Cast never asks for, sees or stores your OneKey or Zillow password. If the new tab shows a sign-in page, sign in, close that tab and click Publish again.

Is it safe? What is each permission for?

Cast can only use the permissions below. Chrome shows them when you install it.

  • Access to propaiire.com: to hear the Publish buttons and to download the listing you chose to cast.
  • Access to matrix-new.onekeymlsny.com and zillow.com: to fill the listing form on those sites. Chrome describes this as reading and changing your data on those sites.
  • Web requests: to see when OneKey or Zillow has finished saving a page, so Cast knows it can fill the next one. It sees only the address and status of requests to those two sites. It does not read or change what they contain.
  • Storage: to remember the cast in progress (the listing, which tab, which page) while you move between pages. Chrome deletes it when you close the browser.

Cast cannot see other sites, your browsing history, your cookies or your passwords. It has no ads, analytics or tracking. See Data and privacy for exactly what it sends.

Why does Chrome warn me about developer mode extensions?

Chrome warns about any extension that does not come from the Chrome Web Store. Cast is installed this way until its Web Store listing is approved. The warning is expected; you can keep Cast turned on.

Some company-managed computers block developer-mode extensions. If yours does, email hello@propaiire.com and we will tell you when the store version is out.

How do I uninstall it?

  1. Go to chrome://extensions.
  2. Find Propaiire Cast and click Remove, then confirm. You can also right-click its toolbar icon and choose Remove from Chrome.
  3. If you installed it in developer mode, you can then delete the lmp-cast-v... folder.

How to update

The current version is 0.1.3. Propaiire shows an Update available note next to the Cast buttons when yours is older. To see which version you have, look at Propaiire Cast on chrome://extensions.

  1. Download lmp-cast-v0.1.3.zip and unzip it.
  2. Go to chrome://extensions, find Propaiire Cast and click Remove.
  3. Click Load unpacked and select the new lmp-cast-v0.1.3 folder. You can delete the old folder afterwards.
  4. Reload your Propaiire tabs.

Data and privacy

What Cast receives. When you click Publish, Propaiire gives the extension a cast token. The token works for one listing, expires after an hour, and can only download that listing's cast data and ask for help with a failed step. Cast uses it to download the listing: address, property details, price and terms, description, photo links, and your name, email, phone and license number as the listing agent.

What Cast keeps. The listing and the token stay in Chrome's session storage while the cast runs. Chrome deletes them when you close the browser. Cast keeps nothing else.

What goes to OneKey or Zillow. Cast types the listing into the form in your tab and downloads the listing photos from their links to attach them. The site receives the listing when you submit it, under its own terms.

What goes to Propaiire. Only when a step fails, for example because the site moved a field. Cast then sends which step failed (the field it looked for, never the value it meant to type), up to 8 KB of the page's HTML around that field, up to 50 field labels near it, and the kind of error. That HTML can include text shown on that part of the page. Propaiire sends the step, labels and HTML to OpenAI to find the moved field, and keeps a record of the failure (site, page, step and the suggested fix, linked to your account) so we can repair Cast. The HTML is not stored. Cast sends no screenshots: Chrome only allows that with permissions Cast does not have.

What Cast never does. It does not read other sites, your browsing history, cookies or passwords. It has no analytics or tracking, and nothing is sold. It notes the address and status of requests to OneKey and Zillow, in memory only, to know when a page in the cast tab has saved; it does not send them anywhere.

The Privacy Policy covers Cast as well.

Troubleshooting

The button says "Install Propaiire Cast" but I installed it

  1. On chrome://extensions, check Propaiire Cast is there and its switch is on.
  2. Reload the Propaiire tab. Cast only reaches tabs opened or reloaded after it was installed.
  3. Use the same Chrome profile you installed it in. Cast does not run in Incognito windows unless you allow it there.
  4. Use Propaiire at www.propaiire.com. Cast does not run on other copies of the site.

A page did not fill, or a field is wrong

When Cast cannot fill a field it first tries to find it again (see Data and privacy). If that fails, the panel says which step failed and waits. Fill that field yourself and click Continue, or click Cancel to stop. Anything Cast filled is still on the page for you to check.

The site changed

OneKey and Zillow change their forms from time to time. When a change breaks Cast, failed steps are reported to us automatically and we fix them in a new version. Until then, fill the affected fields by hand. If a page keeps failing, email hello@propaiire.com with the site, the page title in the panel, and the step it showed.

The button shows an error about my plan

Cast needs Pro, Premium, or a $19 unlock for that property. See pricing.
